The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) revealed in a statement yesterday the identities of four more wax figures of renowned racers, which are done in collaboration with Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, that will debut at the Macau Grand Prix Museum next week.

According to the statement, the wax figures are of racers Michael Rutter, Lewis Hamilton, Robert “Rob” Huff and Edoardo Mortara. They will be unveiled with the wax figures of John Macdonald, Ron Haslam, Ayrton Senna da Silva and Sebastian Vettel, the identities of which were revealed earlier this month. They will all be displayed next to racing vehicles they once drove in Macau.

The statement noted that the racers are internationally renowned and are former Macau Grand Prix racers, with most having garnered numerous awards on the Guia Circuit.

Among the eight figures, the statement added, the ones modelled on Macdonald, Haslam, Rutter, Huff and Mortara were made especially for the collaborative project, while the figures of Senna da Silva, Hamilton and Vettel were recast.

A guessing game titled “Racer Wax Figures: ‘Guess Who?’” was held for members of the public that ran from January through February 28 to celebrate the wax figures’ coming debut, the statement said. The game had over 6,000 participants

The list of winners and game answers can be found at https://mgpm.macaotourism.gov.mo/en/. The statement added that winners will be notified later and will receive an email from MGTO with an e-coupon, valid until December 31, for prize redemption. Enquiries can be made by calling 85930515 or 85930516.

The statement underlined that the museum will be closed on Sunday and on Monday morning for the installation of the waxworks, reopening at 2 p.m. The inaugural ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m.

Moreover, the museum will also be open next Tuesday to celebrate the wax figures’ arrival. The museum is normally closed on Tuesdays.

The Macau Grand Prix will celebrate its 70th anniversary this year.
