NOVA Mall has broken the Guinness world record for having the “Largest Display of Origami Stars” containing 57,552 stars, on display in the mall’s atrium.
The mall, according to the Guinness World Records website, reached the achievement on February 10, while an unveiling ceremony was held yesterday. The record was achieved by inviting members of the public to write their wishes on origami paper and fold them into the shape of stars, which were then placed inside its wishing bottle.
In a speech, Shun Tak Holdings Limited’s Director of Group Marketing Department Vincent Tung Chi Yuen said that in order to thank members of the public for supporting NOVA Mall, rewards worth over 500,000 patacas including cash coupons from TurboJET, among others, are available.
Moving forward, Tung said that “NOVA Mall will strengthen its promotion efforts in the Greater Bay Area [GBA], accelerate the recovery of Macau’s retail and tourism sectors, stimulate consumption, revitalise the economy, and establish Macau as a unique World Tourism and Leisure Centre.”
Moreover, the mall will launch shopping rewards from today through April 9 in celebration of its achievement, where customers spending over 380 patacas on a single transaction or above, and follow the mall’s WeChat account, can participate in a lucky draw for prizes.
People can still write their wishes and place them into the wishing bottle.
