A mainland businessman had HK$187,000 stolen from his hotel room on Saturday by a woman, after spending the night with her, a Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesperson said yesterday.
Speaking during a regular press briefing, the spokesperson said the man reported the case to the police on Saturday. The victim told PJ officers that HK$187,000 in cash had gone missing from his hotel room in the city centre that morning and that he suspected that the woman had stolen the cash and then left.
The spokesperson said that the victim first met the woman in the same hotel in early September, when he came to Macau. The victim and the woman then kept in contact via the mobile messaging service WeChat.
