JW Marriott Hotel Macau said in a recent statement that its restaurant Urban Kitchen is offering authentic Shandong cuisine with its “A Taste of China – Shandong Cuisine” menu.
The statement noted that Shandong cuisine is one of the mainland’s eight classic cuisines and has a rich history that spans over two millennia, as well as being “highly representative of northern Chinese culinary traditions”.
The menu features a range of “hearty plates and bold flavours” curated by guest chef, Shandong native and cuisine master Clement Liu (劉勇), according to the statement.
The statement said that Liu is a National Class-One Chef who has received countless accolades and titles in an illustrious career. He has worked at luxury hotels and dining establishments for nearly 20 years and is currently the Specialty Chinese Chef at JW Marriott Hotel Sanya Dadonghai Bay.
Liu spent a week at JW Marriott Hotel Macau starting from late March to give demonstrations and training to Urban Kitchen’s culinary team, who will recreate some of Liu’s award-winning signature dishes in the following months, the statement underlined.
The statement said that the buffet menu is designed to be “a grand showcase of the wide range of ingredients and cooking methods typical of Shandong cuisine”.
Menu highlights include the Stir-fried Trio Combination, which has an umami-packed mix of dried shrimp, chili, pickled vegetables, green pepper, eggs, salted fish and Shandong-style pancake; and the Shandong Sautéed Linyi Chicken with Green Pepper, which the statement said is “a classic recipe from the ancient times”.
The menu is available until June 30 and is priced at 638-658 patacas per adult and 320-330 patacas for children aged three to 11. Moreover, Marriott Bonvoy Members can get a 20 percent exclusive discount.
