Marking its 15th edition, the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Hong Kong and Macau 2023 will take place at Grand Lisboa Macau, while the return of the first MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Gala Dinner after the COVID-19 pandemic will take place at Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) on the same evening, SJM Resorts said in a statement earlier this week.

SJM is the official partner of the flagship gastronomy event, the statement noted, which will be attended by MICHELIN-starred chefs, industry experts, media, and food enthusiasts from around the region.

The award ceremony will take place at Grand Lisboa’s Grand Ballroom and feature a discussion panel for the first time, according to the statement. It aims to engage with Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) representatives and culinary professionals with discussions around the future of gastronomic tourism.

Meanwhile, the gala dinner will be held at GLP’s Grand Pavilion, and will present a specially designed 8-course menu, bringing together seven acclaimed international and local chefs who were honoured in the 2022 MICHELIN Guide, the statement said.

The line-up of chefs features Executive Chef Julien Tongourian of 3 MICHELIN Starred Robuchon au Dôme in Macau, Executive Chef Albert Au Kwok Keung of 3 MICHELIN Starred The 8 in Macau, and César Augustyniak, Chef Pâtissier of 3 MICHELIN Starred L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Hong Kong, among others.

The statement noted that SJM will “continue to set new standards for Macau’s culinary world, anchor its status as a UNESCO designed ‘Creative City of Gastronomy’ and foster a culture of open innovation and co-creation to encourage new frontiers of ingenuity”.
