A contemporary photography exhibition titled “CAPTURE THE LIGHT AND IMAGES” is being held at the Creative Macau gallery, showcasing the works of six, locally based, invited member artists until May 6.

The exhibits comprise Alan Ieon’s “Enclosed Landscape”, Alex Chao Io Chong’s “Red Year”, André Lui Chak Keong’s “Heaven Above”, Leo Fan Sai Cheong’s “A Happiness Dream series”, Lúcia Lemos’ “The Peony Pavilion”, and Stefan Nunes’ “The Dragon Awakens”.

According to a recent Creative Macau statement, contemporary photography is described as the photography of everyday life. The six artists bring viewers stories that “intersect various languages that emerge from common temporal spaces in compositions of light and shadow, associated with existing physical spaces or abstractions of the imaginary”, the statement noted.

The statement said that the images featured in the exhibition include intimate moments and “portrait expressions”, and have “infinite capacities to involve the photographer to communicate and transmit the singularities of society among others”.

The Creative Macau gallery is located on the ground floor of the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) in Nape. It is open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Admission is free. For more details, visit www.creativemacau.org.mo
