Guangdong’s Radio and Television Administration and Traditional Chinese Medicine Bureau, as well as the Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Guangdong Broadcasting and Television Network Company Limited, have joined hands to co-organise the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Network Audio-Visual Works Contest”, with the theme of promoting traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture, according to a press conference held at The Plaza Restaurant in Zape yesterday.
The Greater Bay Area (GBA) comprises nine cities in Guangdong province and the nation’s two special administrative regions – Hong Kong and Macau.
The press conference pointed out that the best online audio-visual works highlighting the essence of TCM culture and spreading the message of innovative achievements from various perspectives are being collected in the GBA. The collection drives started in Foshan on April 11.
The selected works will be displayed in key online audio-visual platforms and mainstream media on various channels, and they will be awarded certificates of honour and a total of 200,000 yuan in “support funds”.
The Macau Association of Researchers, Practitioners and Promoters of Chinese Medicine (AIPPMCM – 澳門中醫藥學會) has been authorised by the co-organisers to collect and promote the local audio-visual works.
AIPPMCM Chairman Paulo do Lago Comandante said in a speech during the press conference that the close interaction and cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau will promote the further integrated development of TCM culture in the GBA, and facilitate the innovative development of TCM culture in the future.
Lago Comandante said that Macau’s TCM culture is profound and has its own characteristics, and he hoped that in addition to enabling more local residents to understand what TCM is all about, the event could also promote Macau’s TCM culture elsewhere in the GBA, and even in the Portuguese-language countries.
Lago Comandante is commonly known as Shi Chongrong in the field of big health and TCM.
Anyone interested in participating in the event, regardless of whether being part of the local TCM industry or members of the general public, can submit their work to the association in the form of micro-film, audio, animation, music, short video, or film by May 21, with no language limitation. No fees will be charged for taking part in the contest.
