As part of a series of outreach activities of the “2024 Macao International Parade”, members of the public can vote for their preferred parade group in the “Most Popular Award” competition, as well as share their shots of the event in a photography contest, according to a Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) statement earlier this week.

The parade will be held this Sunday afternoon, setting off from the Ruins of St Paul’s at 3 p.m. and ending in Sai Van Lake Square at 6:30 p.m.

The art group with the most votes wins “Most Popular” Award, while the event website also notes that four lucky winners drawn from the voters have a chance to get “one-round-trip economy class ticket from Macau to any destination operated by Air Macau”.

To vote, participants can log onto the parade website on www.icm.gov.mo/macaoparade until 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, or by scanning the QR code on promotional materials along the parade route on the day, the statement noted.

A total of eight prizes, including the “Most Popular” Award, will be on offer for eight of the over 80 art groups joining the parade. The seven other prizes are jury-selected and comprise the “Most Energetic” Award, the “Most Creative” Award, the “Best Performance” Award, the “Best Costume” Award, the “Parade Queen” Award, the “Parade King” Award, and the “Outstanding Theme” Award, according to the statement.

Meanwhile, the photography contest is open to Macau residents aged 12 and up, with entries based on this year’s parade theme. Participants can submit a maximum of five photos featuring performances, the “joyous” atmosphere, performer close-ups and event highlights until April 8.

The contest comprises a Champion Award, a 1st Runner-Up Award, a 2nd Runner-Up Award and 15 Merit Awards, with details and the contest regulations available on the website. Enquiries can also be made by calling IC representatives Ms Lei and Ms Cheong on 2871 5709 and 2875 2929 respectively.
