MTel Telecommunication Company Limited said yesterday that it has set up its “MTel Cloud Network Security Centre” with the aim of providing enterprises with a new security service plan that is simple, safe and efficient to use and maintain.

MTel Executive Office Special Adviser Alex C. C. Choi aka Choi Chin Chong made the remarks during a MTel Cloud Network Security promotion conference yesterday at L’Arc Hotel, adding that the centre aims to provide a highly reliable and secure operating environment for industry and customer data, and provide high quality cloud-based services with a highly positioned, high performance all-fibre network.

Together with the new centre, the entire service plan represents an investment of over 10 million patacas, Choi said.

Choi said that with the expansion of 5G and F5G in Macau, MTel Telecom has signed a cooperation agreement with Shenzhen Telecom Service Technology Company Limited in the area of cloud convergence products and services.

Choi also said that due to the increasing demand for cyber security and cloud services from local SMEs, the local company is now offering “affordable” service products for SMEs to choose from, charging as low as just a few hundred patacas a month, depending on demand. Choi said he believed this would meet customer demand and protect corporate data security.

Choi noted that the community is becoming more and more concerned about cyber security and there are more and more cyber-attacks and hacking cases, adding he believed the new service can help users by blocking cyber-attacks and ensuring daily maintenance, which a number of local SMEs have already signed up for on a trial basis.
