The Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau 2023 was hosted at Grand Lisboa yesterday, with 17 restaurants from Macau awarded Michelin stars.

The event, which marked its 15th edition, featured a selection of 206 restaurants from Hong Kong and 44 from Macau.

Among Macau’s Michelin-star awardees, which are all located within Macau’s integrated resorts (IR), only one eatery was newly awarded, while another one was promoted.

The recipients of three Michelin stars are Jade Dragon at City of Dreams (COD), and Robuchon au Dôme as well as The Eight, both of which are at Grand Lisboa.

The two Michelin star recipients are Alain Ducasse at Morpheus, Feng Wei Ju in StarWorld Hotel, Mizumi and Wing Lei at Wynn Macau, as well as Sichuan Moon at Wynn Palace.

Meanwhile, Lai Heen at The Ritz-Carlton, Macau, 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo – Bombana at Galaxy Macau, Pearl Dragon at Studio City, The Kitchen at Grand Lisboa, Wing Lei Palace at Wynn Palace, Ying at Altira Macau, and Zi Yat Heen at Four Seasons Hotel Macao garnered a Michelin one-star rating.

Huaiyang Garden at The Londoner Macao was the only newly awarded restaurant, having been recognised with one Michelin star, while Five Foot Road at MGM COTAI was promoted from a Michelin Selected restaurant to a One Michelin star rated restaurant.

Meanwhile, the IFTM Educational Restaurant also again received the Michelin Green Star, which according to Micheline Guide’s website, “highlights restaurants at the forefront of the industry when it comes to their sustainable practices”.

Michelin tyre company’s official mascot Bibendum, commonly referred to in English as the Michelin Man or Michelin Tyre Man, awaits yesterday’s award recipients on stage.
