A Public Security Police (PSP) officer surnamed Wu, who was found taking sneak photos of a woman at a game centre in the city centre on Tuesday, has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing an invasion of privacy charge, according to a PSP statement yesterday.

The statement said that the off-duty police officer, who went to the game centre alone, admitted that he had stealthily taken photos of the victim with his mobile phone. The statement did not reveal the suspect’s age and when he joined the force.

The statement underlined that the Public Security Police are “highly” concerned about the incident and have launched disciplinary proceedings against Wu.

The Public Security Police reaffirmed in the statement that they attach “great” importance to ethics and law-abiding awareness of all their staff members, stressing that all illegal acts will be dealt with “seriously” according to the law.
