Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM) said in a statement yesterday that the exchange of the Tiger and Rabbit Zodiac banknotes and the previously issued XXIV Olympic Winter Game banknotes by Bank of China (BOC) runs through August 11.
According to the statement, registered Macau residents can take their Macau ID to the selected bank on their preferred date.
Residents can exchange 30 zodiac banknotes of each issuing bank and four of the Olympic Winter Games banknotes that were previously issued by BOC. The exchange totals 124 banknotes, amounting to 1,280 patacas, the statement said.
The exchange of zodiac and Olympic Winter Games banknotes needs to be conducted in one go, with “no provision for the separate exchange of any one type of the notes”, the statement underlined.
