The Venetian Macao and teamLab will open three new permanent artwork spaces at teamLab SuperNature Macao from June 1, according to a recent statement from the resort operator.
A permanent exhibition located at The Venetian’s Cotai Expo, teamLab SuperNature Macao is the “landmark collaboration” by the integrated resort and the international Tokyo-based art collective, according to the statement. It spans 5,000 square metres of labyrinth floor space with eight-metre-high ceilings.
The statement noted that the new artwork spaces are: the Floating Flower Garden: Flowers and I are of the Same Root, the Garden and I are One; Massless Clouds Between Sculpture and Life; and EN TEA HOUSE, all of which are permanent interactive installations.
According to the statement, the Floating Flower Garden features “an interactive garden artwork composed of over 8,000 living orchids that bloom in mid-air as if floating in space”. Massless Clouds Between Sculpture and Life, meanwhile, has a giant, white cloud-like mass that floats in space, transcending the concept of mass as it neither sinks to the floor or reaches the ceiling.
EN TEA HOUSE, the statement added, will enable visitors to watch “Flowers Bloom in an Infinite Universe inside a Teacup”.
Moreover, the statement said that the “Light Sculpture” series will reveal its major renewal on June 1 and is currently only exhibited in Macau, while “Autonomous Abstraction, Continuous Phenomena from the Universe to the Self” will replace the current “Life is the Light that Resonates in the Dark”.
The statement noted that the editions enrich the company’s art and entertainment offerings, as well as demonstrates its “relentless efforts to echo the Macau Government Tourism Office’s [MGTO] ‘tourism+’ cross-sector integration initiative”.
