About 2,000 donors and entity representatives visited the latest high-tech Orbis Flying Eye Hospital at the airport earlier this month, with many photos shared on social media, raising interest among those who didn’t get the chance to tour the special aeroplane.

This third generation Flying Eye Hospital was in town for a six-day tour from last Friday to Wednesday for guided tours which enabled members of the public to learn more about Orbis’ sight saving missions around the world while donors could see how their donations are being used.

Orbis is a global non-governmental organisation (NGO) founded in 1982 that fights blindness by sharing its ophthalmological knowhow by training local doctors and nurses particularly in developing countries and regions with its specially fitted plane which Orbis calls its “Flying Eye Hospital”.
