The public Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM) and Swiss Education Group (SEG) have extended their collaboration arrangement, signing a new agreement during an online ceremony yesterday, according to an IFTM statement.
According to the statement, SEG comprises four “outstanding” schools in Switzerland: Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS), César Ritz Colleges Switzerland (CRCS), Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland (CAAS) and Hotel Institute Montreux (HIM). Each are ranked 3rd, 6th, 7th and 8th respectively worldwide on the QS World University Rankings by Subject: Hospitality & Leisure Management 2023.
IFTM is ranked 10th in the same rankings.
SEG continues its partnership with the higher education institute through various programmes such as shorter duration options for students to spend 6 weeks or up to a semester in Switzerland, leading to certifications issued in that country, the statement noted.
Building on the 3+1 dual bachelor programme, Hotel Management and Tourism Event Management bachelor students in the English and Chinese degree programmes can earn two degrees issued by the institutions in Macau and Switzerland.
Moreover, Culinary Arts Management bachelor’s students can work towards a Swiss Higher Diploma in addition to an IFTM bachelor degree by participating in a different programme.
The statement said that IFTM’s School of Hospitality Management comprises “three specialisms” in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts Management and Tourism Event Management, offering degree programmes at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
IFTM is developing new partnerships with “highly-ranked and world-renowned institutions” to give students additional options to enrich their learning experience, according to the statement.
