National Academy of Governance VP briefs local officials on nation’s ‘great rejuvenation’

The Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) government yesterday held a lecture for its top officials as well as senior officials from various public entities on the topic of “the Communist Party of China and the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation”, according to a statement by the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) last night.

The “thematic” lecture aimed to enable local officials to deepen their understanding of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the statement said.

The lecture was held at the Services Platform Complex for Commercial and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSCs) in Nam Van Lake district, also known as Forum Macao complex.

The lecture was delivered by Xie Chuntao, a vice-president of the National Academy of Governance.

According to the statement, around 250 people attended the lecture, including Foreign Ministry Commissioner Liu Xianfa, and Huang Liuquan, a deputy director the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the MSAR, as well as top officials of the MSAR, and senior officials of the local government’s various public entities.

Secretary for Administration and Justice André Cheong Weng Chon said in the event’s opening speech that accurately grasping the relationship between the Party and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is of great importance for understanding the spirit of the Party’s 20th National Congress and comprehending the process and direction of the nation’s development, according to the SAFP statement.

Cheong pledged that the MSAR government will continue its good governance with the aim of ensuring that the successful implementation of the “One Country, Two Systems” principle will “proceed steadily and go far”, in compliance with the strategies outlined by the Party’s 20th National Congress, according to the statement.

According to the statement, Xie briefed the participants on the Party’s glorious journey of uniting and leading the people in the constant pursuit and struggle for the nation’s great rejuvenation.

Xie briefed the attendees on the historic transformation and success that have been achieved since the Party’s 18th National Congress, as well as the strategic plans outlined by its 20th National Congress, the statement said.

In addition, according to the statement, Xie also presented the “scientific connotation” and the great importance of achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-style modernisation.
