The Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM) said in a statement yesterday that members of the public should be wary of a financial institution named “Searle Insurance Company Limited.“
Upon investigation, the statement said, the information on the website of the institution (https://searle.ltd/) was found to be inaccurate and misleading.
The statement underlined that the company has never been authorised to carry out insurance business in Macau under the local Insurance Business Framework Law.
The regulator urged the public to be vigilant and to verify carefully any information about insurance companies obtained through the Internet or social media. Anyone who has provided personal information to, or engaged in any transactions with, the “Searle Insurance Company Limited” through its website or other channels is advised to report to the police.
