Lawmaker-cum-unionist Kwan Tsui Hang said yesterday that officials from the Housing Bureau (IH) and Legal Affairs Bureau (DSAJ) were divided about an article in a government-initiated bill on regulating property management companies working for residential buildings. The article states that a property management company must give flat owners six-months notice before ending its service.

The legislature’s 1st Standing Committee held a closed-door meeting with government officials from the two bureaus about the bill yesterday. Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosario also attended the meeting.

Kwan, who chairs the committee, briefed reporters after the three-hour meeting.
