The Sports Bureau (ID) said in a statement on Thursday that the China Nanhai Jiujiang team has won both the Open Category and the Women’s Category of the Macao International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race (500m) during the final race day of the 2023 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races.
According to the statement, the team won with a time of 1:51.685, followed by the Macao China Selection Team at 1:52.267 and the Thailand National Team at 1:53.545. For the Women’s Category, the China Nanhai Jiujiang team won at 2:01.605, while the Thailand National Team and Singapore National Team came in at second and third place respectively, the statement noted.
Meanwhile, during the Macao University Student Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race (500m), Thailand’s Kasetsart University (KU) won the race with a finishing time of 1:59.015, followed by Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Nankai University Binhai College.
The 4th to 6th places, meanwhile, went to Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), Wuhan’s Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and the University of Macau (UM), according to the statement.
Moreover, the “Best Drummer” award and the “Best Steersman” were given to Choi Ka Pou of the NC – Sky team and Sin Kam Chong of “Yunongfan” Youth Team respectively.
Thursday’s final race day, the statement said, was also attended by Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng, who hosted the eye-dotting ceremony and prize presentation ceremony.
