Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) said in a statement earlier this week that this year marked its responsible gaming promotion programme’s 15th anniversary, with the resort operator collaborating with various social service organisations to host activities, themed “mental health”, to promote responsible gaming to its staff and the local community.
The activities featured the month-long “GEG Presents – Responsible Gaming Mental Health Online” campaign launched in conjunction with the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao (AJVM), according to the statement. It featured infographics shared on social media platforms for members of the public to “understand the different ways of improving physical and mental wellness and to learn about stress and emotional management with a positive attitude”, the statement noted.
The online event also included quizzes and lucky draws where winners received GEG-sponsored prizes, and drew nearly 1,000 participants, according to the statement.
AJVM’s Unit in Charge, Fion Lao, was quoted as thanking GEG for “their trust and tremendous support on jointly launching this online campaign that aims to remind the public of maintaining a peaceful mind when coping with stress and emotions, as well as the need to seek appropriate support when necessary, bringing positive impact to the community”.
Moreover, GEG also cooperated with the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home (MGIEH) group to host “Understand More About Casino Entry Law” Responsible Gaming Roadshow in its back-of-house areas, where “key information and regulations” on the government’s responsible gaming policies were promoted to 1,200 staff through information displays and interactive games, according to the statement.
The statement added that the activity aimed to reinforce participants’ understanding of the related legal supervisions and the importance to law abidance.
The company, the statement added, has held many responsible gaming promotional activities for its staff and different community groups over the years, including several activities held from March to May, and will continue to advocate responsible gaming.
