The Identification Services Bureau (DSI) said in a statement yesterday that residents are now able to make their appointment for the identity card and travel document services for a time slot on the day of booking it.

In response to the overwhelming demand, the bureau has expanded its service hours since last Thursday, after which over 5,000 applications were processed in the first five days, the statement pointed out, which added that the bureau’s three offices – at China Plaza in Nam Van and the Government Service Centres in Areia Preta and Taipa – are currently staying open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends, providing a certain number of appointments for the first-time issuing and renewal of identity cards and travel documents every day.

The statement underlined that only the pre-bookings for services including first-time applications for and renewals of identity cards, travel documents and travel permits for Macau residents travelling to and from Hong Kong will be accepted during the newly available time slots, except for collection that does not require an appointment.

Appointments for the services can be made via the Macao One Account or the bureau’s website at www.dsi.gov.mo, according to the statement, which added that enquiries can be made by calling 2837 0777 or 2837 0888.
