A group of seniors from Centro de Convívio da Obra das Mães (“Mothers’ Work Social Centre”) were recently invited by SJM Resorts to Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) in Cotai for a cultural and gastronomic journey, the gaming resort operator said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the event aimed to “pay homage to the traditional Chinese virtues of benevolence, love, filial piety and respect”. The seniors spent a “pleasant afternoon” with the SJM staff during the visit, the statement noted.

The statement said that the staff accompanied the seniors’ visit to the resort’s various leisure and hotel facilities such as the European-style Jardim Secreto (“Secret Garden”) and THE KARL LAGERFELD MACAU, the world’s only hotel tower designed by the late German fashion designer and legend.

The group also visited the “Blossoms at Grand Lisboa Palace – A Group Exhibition by Macau’s Emerging Artists”, which is a collaboration between SJM and the Macau Youth Art Association, the statement said, and features large-scale art installations.

The seniors then had authentic Asian-style cuisines at the “Eight Treasures” restaurant and participated in interactive games, while SJM team members handed out exclusive souvenirs to them, according to the statement.

The statement added that the company will “continue to work closely with different local associations to jointly organise various activities, helping Macau promote community integration and fostering social harmony and development”.
