Resort operator Galaxy Macau said in a recent statement that its one-Michelin-starred Italian dining destination 8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA is collaborating with one of the most exclusive bars, Milan’s famed 1930 Cocktail Bar, for a crossover event to “excite mixology connoisseurs” this summer.
The statement noted that the restaurant, which is located within the Galaxy Macau resort in Cotai, will welcome the 1930 Cocktail Bar’s Bar Manager Benjamin Fabio Cavagna for two nights, tonight and tomorrow for world-class mixology served from the restaurant’s bar.
The speakeasy-style 1930 Cocktail Bar, according to the statement, opened in 2013 and has since established itself as Milan’s finest and “most difficult to access” cocktail bar, with its address being a closely guarded secret known only to a select few.
The statement added that those hoping to gain entry must first befriend someone from the inner circle of owners Flavio Angiolillo and Marco Russo to discover the location and secure a highly sought-after reservation. It’s “mysterious allure” and one-of-a-kind cocktails has led to it being named on “The World 50 Best Bars” list for the past four years, where they ranked 44th in 2019, 25th in 2020, 20th in 2021, and 35th in 2022, according to the statement.
Guests who are able to book a slot for the crossover event can sample creative cocktails such as “The Merchant of Venice”, “Fusettone” and “Rhubaroni”. Cavagna, the statement noted, is the man behind these concoctions, and was born in the northern Italian city of Brescia. He developed a passion for whisky and spirits while studying philosophy in Milan. The statement added that after meeting Russo and Angiolillo in 2014, he joined their Farmily Group, ultimately becoming 1930’s Bar Manager.
Cavagna will be mixing his creations at 8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA at Galaxy Macau from 6 p.m. to midnight tonight and tomorrow. Bookings are on a strictly first come, first served basis. One can call 8886 2169 for enquiries and reservations.
