Several members of the Urban Planning Council yesterday voiced disagreement with the government’s plan of a huge public housing project with a proposed height limit of up to 155 metres, on the plot of the abandoned La Scala luxury housing project near the airport.
In early September, the government announced the final version of its first-ever Five-Year Development Plan, which says that more than 8,000 public housing units could be built on the plot.
Some members of the government-appointed council questioned whether the plot would be a suitable location for such a large public housing project.
