Melco Resorts & Entertainment signed an annual strategic cooperation agreement with mainland media companies yesterday at City of Dreams to promote Macau’s tourism and cultural attractions to audiences in the mainland and to further develop Macau into a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.

The two mainland media companies, EE-Media and Vanilla Media, signed the cooperation agreement with Melco, with the aim of promoting in-depth business cooperation over the next five years, integrating more tourism and cultural aspects into various activities, and facilitating cultural exchanges and cooperation between young people in Macau and the mainland.

Melco first collaborated with Mango TV in 2020 to create a cultural tourism programme for Macau, “Mangtan Coming – Mango TV Show”, with over 180 million views across the network, exploring and showing the Greater Bay Area (GBA) to audiences in different aspects including humanities, history, local customs, intangible cultural heritage, and local cultures.

According to the Melco statement, the strategic partnership agreement includes future plans by the three parties including facilitating cultural exchanges in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), launching a five-year long cooperation in Macau in different areas including “Talent Exchange in Music, Film, City Branding Development Talents Exchange”, “Music Copyright Summit”, “The Deep Integration of Variety Show IP, Concert IP, Music Festival IP and Macau” and “Brand Marketing Summit” which is aimed at elevating entertainment experiences to the next level for all visitors to Macau and local residents.

IP is the abbreviation of intellectual property, which refers to creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, symbols, images, names and logos used in commerce.
