Public broadcaster TDM launched yesterday “The Voice of Macau” programme as part of a series of prelude activities celebrating the station’s 40th anniversary, welcoming all local and non-local residents to “fulfil their musical dream” on the stage, regardless of their age, gender, or nationality.
A launching ceremony for the singing contest was held yesterday at TDM Forum II Studio in Zape.
With the theme of “Unlimited Power and Brilliant Talents” for the broadcaster’s prelude activities, the ongoing event aims to continue to support the development of local music “with actions”, while bringing diverse and rich audio-visual experience to its audience.
Those interested in taking part in the programme can upload a two-minute singing video to the broadcaster’s WeChat Official Account, tdm_macau, according to yesterday’s ceremony, which noted that successful applicants will be selected for the contest which will be broadcast live on television and multimedia platforms for public voting.
In a speech, Lorman Lo Song Man, chairwoman of the broadcaster’s executive committee, said during the ceremony that her company spares no effort to promote the development of the local music industry, as well as the local cultural and creative industry, adding that the public broadcaster has launched a number of music brand programmes over the years, which “actively” introduced local music works to mainland and overseas platforms, while also recommending “outstanding” singers to participate in the CCTV New Year’s Gala and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union TV Song Festival.
She also said that TDM’s special “The Voice of Macau” programme aimed to discover and cultivate more local singing talents.
