The “BE@RBRICK MACAU – World’s First Immersive BE@RBRICK Art Exhibition” is currently on display at Galaxy Macau in Cotai until September 22, being the city’s most extensive BE@RBRICK themed exhibition.

Hosted in support of the “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023”, the free exhibits are displayed at GalaxyArt, which is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., as well as at the Pearl Lobby and the Outdoor Lawn.

A recent Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) statement said that the exhibition features over 10 invited international and local artists and designers to showcase large-scale installations throughout GEG’s property, as well as to create the first BE@RBRICK exhibition that combines technology and digital art while presenting visitors with an immersive and interactive experience.

The exhibits feature art installations by internationally renowned Japanese artist Tatsuhiko Akashi and a group of artists and designers, with works such as the world debut of BE@RBRICK digital art, the world’s first and tallest “MY FIRST BE@RBRICK BABY 10000%” inflatable art installation.

Also featured is the BE@RBRICK art collection created by emerging Macau artist MCZ_Thomas and other local artists, and uses Galaxy Macau as its inspiration, according to the statement, while there are over 50 BE@RBRICK art pieces from past BE@RBRICK MACAU exhibitions.

The statement added that with the aim of facilitating arts and cultural exchanges, as well as the development of the local arts and cultural sector, extended events such as the “Power of Art – Contemporary Art & Fashion: A Driving Force of the Cultural Industry Development” Art Forum, which was recently held, and graffiti art workshops during weekends with an invited local artist are also featured. Guided tours at GalaxyArt are also provided for various local organisations.

GEG Director Philip Cheng Yee Sing was quoted in the statement as saying: “For this Special Exhibition, we invited local and internationally-renowned artists to work together, and create an exhibition that we hope, can provide more opportunities for local artists to display their work, as well as further strengthen Macau’s integration of ‘tourism+ art’ and help the Macau SAR Government in promoting the city’s unique and diverse cultural charm.”
