The Judiciary Police (PJ) were notified by the Fire Services Bureau (CB) at 9:20 a.m. yesterday that a male corpse was found hanging near the Hac Sá Long Chao Kok Coastal Trail by a resident, PJ spokesman Leng Kam Lun said in a statement yesterday.
Upon examination of the body, according to the statement, the corpse was a male in his sixties, and was believed to have been dead for some time.
The statement said that at about 7 a.m. yesterday, a local resident who was going fishing at the beach found a man hanging from a flat nylon belt between two large rocks.
Identification documents and a mobile phone were found on the deceased, and his identity needs to be further verified, the statement said.
No suspicious or criminally induced injuries were found on the corpse, the statement noted, which added that the cause of death still needed to be confirmed by forensic examination.
The case has been classified as a dead body found, according to the statement.
