Male body found floating in coastal waters off Lam Mau Tong: police

The Judiciary Police (PJ) were informed by the Macau Customs Service and the Fire Services Bureau (CB) on Saturday at 9:57 a.m. that a male corpse was found floating in coastal waters off Avenida Marginal do Lam Mau, according to a PJ statement yesterday.

According to the statement, at around 9:48 a.m. on Saturday, a female janitor working at a public toilet in the Lam Mau Tong area noticed a body floating in the sea between the toilet and the government wharf.

After the janitor reported the case to the police, firefighters and Customs officers rushed to the scene and towed the body to the pier with a Customs patrol boat.

The statement said that the deceased is an Asian male, around 1.75 metres tall. The statement added that the deceased was wearing a black T-shirt, black trousers with black socks and white sneakers. The statement said that no identification documents or suicide note were found on the body.

After a preliminary examination, no suspicious or criminally induced injuries were found on the corpse, the statement said.

The case has been listed as a dead body found. The cause of death still needs to be confirmed by forensic examination. The case has been transferred to the Judiciary Police for follow-up investigation, according to the statement.
