Union calls for decrease in imported construction workers

Members of the Macau House Painters Union and lawmaker-cum-unionist Ella Lei Cheng I reaffirmed their demand yesterday that local construction workers be given employment priority and urged the government to reduce the number of imported construction workers.

They made the remarks during a meeting at the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) yesterday. Lei accompanied the union members to the meeting.

DSAL Director Wong Chi Hong and other officials attended at the meeting to discuss the issue with representatives of the union.
