SJM Resorts hosted its annual “Employees’ Children Summer Programme” from July 17 to yesterday, inviting children of its staff who are in kindergarten and primary school to “explore interests beyond traditional academic studies and acquire new skills during their vacation”, the integrated resort operator said in a statement on Wednesday.

The statement noted that the free programme introduced an expanded range of interest classes and comprised 37 courses, which “positively impacted the development” of 647 children of SJM’s staff.

The statement said that the programme covered categories such as sports and athletics and creative arts. The activities offered included karate, table tennis, darts, children’s street dance, dessert-making, watercolour painting, sketching, sand painting, LEGO art, 3D book-making, magic, science experiments, Chinese chess, English enrichment classes, and a pony experiences, among others.

The statement added that the programme expanded its scope to service SJM staff’s friends and families to enable a greater number of the young generation to benefit from the learning opportunities, fostering a more inclusive environment for learning, friendship, and enjoyment during the vacation.

Since its launch in 2017, the statement said, the programme has garnered “enthusiastic participation from employees and their children, underscoring its popularity and value”, according to the statement.

Moreover, the statement underlined that the company regularly organises parenting education and training courses, parent-child sporting competitions, festive celebrations, and provides scholarships for outstanding employees’ children, with the efforts contributing to the cultivation of harmonious families and the advancement of social cohesion and stability.
