The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement yesterday that it hosted its “Macao Courtesy Campaign: Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year – Learn to be an Ambassador” Sharing Session on Friday, which was attended by over 70 participants.
According to the statement, the session aims to spread the Macao Courtesy Campaign’s key message to schools to inspire youngsters and students to “treat others with respect and courtesy” from an early age and build up Macau’s image as a hospitable city. Local academia representatives were invited to attend the event.
Addressing Friday’s attendees, MGTO Deputy Director Cheng Wai Tong noted that the campaign also counts on the support of academia to cultivate the “excellent traditional culture of courtesy” among young people.
The event included an introduction to the campaign, along with a promotional video. The statement added that the attendees were also briefed on the work of spreading the word about the courtesy campaign and promoting awareness of the ideal of hospitality for visitors, while the co-organising entities’ representatives were invited to share practical cases of courtesy.
During the event, MGTO also distributed other campaign-supporting materials to schools and other educational institutions, the statement noted.
Moreover, MGTO said that it has launched a series of promotional initiatives about the campaign through its various social media platforms, along with a host of videos titled “Be My Guest ∙ Feel At Home” themed “Dining, Retail, Transportation and Students” on different platforms. Promotional posters and print advertisements have also been produced.
