Michelin-starred restaurant 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA at Galaxy Macau will host renowned Head Mixologist of The Aubrey, Devender Sehgal, tomorrow and on Thursday, during which he will present Japanese izakaya*-style cocktails, according to a recent statement from the integrated resort operator.
The statement noted that 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA has received a Michelin star for eight consecutive years, and a Forbes Travel Guide’s five-star honour this year.
The statement said that Sehgal, who is from India, previously worked in top bars in Delhi and Mumbai. He joined the Hong Kong team at Michelin-starred 8 ½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA in 2014, becoming the head mixologist, and led the restaurant to the list of “Asia’s 50 Best Bars” for four years.
Moreover, The Aubrey, which opened in 2021, has quickly become the “talk of the cocktail world in Hong Kong”, according to the statement. Its underlying theme is “The journey of a hungry mind”, aiming to explore cross-cultural thoughts, igniting new ideas.
The bar is ranked 17th in “Asia’s 50 Best Bars” this year, the statement said, and features three bar areas – the Main Bar, Omakase Cocktail Bar, and Champagne & Sake Bar. Sehgal, as its beverage manager, has crafted hand-made cocktails focusing on Shochu and Awamori.
The statement said that Sehgal will be crafting “The journey of a hungry mind” cocktails during the period from 6 p.m. until midnight. The menu will feature “Seductive Muscat”, “Two Bishop”, “S & S”, “Endgame” and “Koriyama”, among others.
