The Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) said in a statement yesterday that its Centre for Continuing Education is slated to launch nine different programmes with over 20 professional certification courses in the fourth quarter of this year in response to the “strong demand for practice-orientated training”.
The courses, according to MPU’s website, are taught in Cantonese.
The statement noted that practice-orientated training covers financial management, conventions and exhibitions, technology applications, social work and public administration, among others.
The centre’s flagship courses such as “Chinese official document writing” and human resources management have received “high registrations”, according to the statement. The courses will continue to be offered this year, alongside new ones such as “International Financial Theory and Macao Financial Practice” and “Mental Rehabilitation and Communication Skills Practice”.
The statement noted that the new courses are designed for professionals who want to join a related industry or want to improve their “professional capabilities”. Two new courses have also been added: “Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Care and Pain Management” and “Comprehensive Conditioning by Applying Traditional Chinese Medicine”.
Meanwhile, the statement said that in order to meet social workers’ needs for continuous education, related courses to be offered have been recognised by the Macao Social Workers Professional Committee and cover social work skills for working with groups and social work intervention practice, among others.
The Centre will also offer courses for civil servants and those interested in public administration, including administrative procedure law, the statement said, with those completing the course requirements entitled to receive a certificate.
Online registration is now open, with more details on https://www.mpu.edu.mo/zh/cec_short_courses.php, while one can call the centre on 87950707 / 87950832 / 87950750 or email cec@mpu.edu.mo for registration enquiries.
