Macau’s number of visitor arrivals soared by 872.2 percent year-on-year and 16.7 percent month-on-month to 3.22 million in August, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) has announced.
The daily average of visitor arrivals reached 103,925 in August.
Same-day visitors (1.65 million) and overnight visitors (1.56 million) leapt by 975.6 percent and 782.6 percent year-on-year respectively.
However, visitors’ average length of stay dipped by 1.6 days year-on-year to 1.2 days.
Mainlanders and Hongkongers accounted for 72.1 percent and 22.1 percent of all visitor arrivals last month.
In the first eight months of the year, the number of visitor arrivals rose by 363.1 percent to 17.6 million.
