Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) said in a statement on Wednesday that it had invited Caritas Macau service users and their families to the “Galaxy Lantern Art Festival” in celebration of Sunday’s National Day and today’s Mid-Autumn Festival.
The lantern festival was jointly launched by the integrated resort operator and the Macau Designers Association.
According to the statement, GEG Volunteer Team members accompanied nearly 30 Caritas Macau’s Family and Child Youth Services users along Galaxy Hotel’s walkway to appreciate and take photos of award-winning lanterns designed by art students in university, and designers from Macau and other parts of the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The statement noted that participants also visited the property’s Outdoor Lawn, where snacks were prepared for them as they observed the first six-metre-diameter Supermoon in Macau, adding that the ambiance was “filled with festivity”.
GEG also presented Mid-Autumn Festival gift packs that included mini moon cakes and greeting cards purchased from the Fuhong Society of Macau, and the Mid-Autumn Festival special edition lanterns of “Wavey the peacock of Galaxy Kidz”, the statement said.
The statement quoted a parent who participated at the event, Ms Lam, as saying: “I truly appreciate GEG’s arrangement for this event on the occasion of the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival since it allows us to celebrate and learn about traditional Chinese festivals with our children in such a strong festive ambiance created by the art installations.
The Wavey Lantern Art Parade, an activity in the festival, will also be held tonight and tomorrow night featuring local arts and cultural troupes to present dance and music performances
