The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has announced that its “Mount Fortress in the Moonlight” event, co-organised with Melco Resorts & Entertainment, has been extended until tomorrow, presenting a light show and music performances by the School of Music of the Macao Conservatory and Macao Chinese Orchestra at the Mount Fortress Garden.
An IC statement on Sunday said that the “Mount Fortress in the Moonlight – Special Event for the Mid-Autumn Festival for the Public”, initially scheduled to be held for three days between Mid-Autumn Festival on September 29 and National Day on October 1, had attracted nearly 5,000 revellers to watch the performances at the “UNESCO World Heritage site” every evening.
According to the statement, the event will continue until tomorrow night, with the opening hours of the Mount Fortress Garden being extended until 10 p.m.
The statement noted that the music performances and light show will be staged daily from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. respectively, with the latter being held every 30 minutes.
Combined with “meticulously designated” lighting effects complete with classical music and the commemorative song for the 20th anniversary of Macau’s return to the motherland, co-composed by local musicians, the public can enjoy the event under the night sky in the Mount Fortress Garden until tomorrow night.
The event is one of the cultural attractions to be held in the first phase of the revitalisation programme by the government in conjunction with the city’s six integrated resort (IR) operators.
