The 31st Macau International Fireworks Display Contest concluded yesterday with the UK, China and Japan as the winner and first and second runner-ups.

The winners were decided by an MGTO-appointed jury.

UK’s winning display was held last night, while the displays of the Chinese and Japanese teams took place on National Day on October 1 and on September 23 respectively.

An award ceremony of the one-month contest was held last night at the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre.

The first post-pandemic fireworks display contest kicked off on September 11. It comprised 10 pyrotechnics companies from Australia, Austria, China, Russia, Germany, Japan, the Philippines, Portugal, the UK, and Switzerland.

The annual contest had been suspended since 2019 due to the three-year COVID 19 pandemic.
