The Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement yesterday that a local male driver in his sixties has been fined for driving a semi-trailer truck into the motorcycle lane on Sai Van Bridge towards Taipa.
According to the statement, the suspect told the police that he mistakenly entered the motorcycle lane when driving across the bridge “in a moment of distraction”.
The police urged all drivers and riders to “consciously” abide by the city’s road traffic laws and relevant regulations, guaranteeing the safety of themselves and other road users.
The Public Security Police released the statement to the media via text message in response to a video about the incident circulating on a social media platform.
