The “Red Bull Pit Stop Challenge” kicked-off in the East Square of the Galaxy Macau megaresort in Cotai yesterday, with the event enabling motorsport fans and others to experience what it’s like to be a part of the Oracle Red Bull Racing team, which previously held the world record for the fastest Formula 1 (F1) pit stop at 1.82 seconds, through different activities.
Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Deputy Director Ricky Hoi Io Meng, Sports Bureau (ID) Vice President Christine Lam Lin Kio, local racer Filipe de Souza and Hong Kong artiste Martin Wong Chi Hin were among the officiating guests at the opening ceremony.
This challenge event, which is being held in Macau for the first time, is among the activities for the upcoming 70th Macau Grand Prix (MGP) that will take place from November 11-12 and November 16-19. Among the challenges are an F1 car tyre changing activity that uses real tools, a racing simulator that enables players to zip through the Guia Circuit and a reaction time test game, all of which will be held at Galaxy Macau.
Moreover, there is a section that features historical information on the F1 team. There is also an Oracle Red Bull Racing exhibition at the Macau Grand Prix Museum that presents the team’s history, F1 equipment, promotional videos, and games.
Prizes are also offered for those completing the challenges.
The Red Bull Pit Stop Challenge is open from 12 noon to 8 p.m. daily until November 19. Moreover, the StarWorld Whiskey Bar and Galaxy Macau’s Macallan Whiskey Bar will also be offering Red Bull drinks until November 19.
