A local man has been arrested for sexually harassing a female friend, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Cheong Heon Fan said in a regular press conference yesterday.
The 34-year-old suspect surnamed Kuok is the manager of a design company. The victim is in her twenties and has known Kuok since their university days.
According to Cheong, on Saturday afternoon the victim was invited by Kuok to assist with venue decoration work at Kuok’s shop on Estrada da Areia Preta. During the process, the suspect suddenly embraced her from behind and grabbed her breasts. The victim managed to break free and reported the case to the police.
Police arrested Kuok at the shop. Under questioning, Kuok denied the allegation and claimed that he had accidentally touched the victim while “losing balance” during work.
Kuok has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), where he faces a sexual harassment charge, Cheong said.
