The government will remove a traffic light-controlled pedestrian crossing on Coloane’s Estrada de Seac Pai Van near the Rotunda da Concórdia Public Bus Terminal on Monday as a newly completed footbridge there has come into service, the Transport Bureau (DSAT) announced in a statement yesterday.
The Rotunda da Concórdia Public Bus Terminal, which came into use early this year, is located between the private residential estate One Oasis and the Concórdia Industrial Park.
The statement said that the traffic light-controlled pedestrian crossing there will be cancelled from Monday morning. The statement said that the cancellation aims to raise the road’s vehicular flow capacity.
The Rotunda da Concórdia Public Bus Terminal is located opposite the entrance of the hill road, namely Estrada do Alto de Coloane, leading to Coloane Hill Peak where the 19.99-metre A-Ma Statue is located.
