MGM’s beverage team and its six signature restaurants across MGM MACAU and MGM COTAI have garnered 19 wine awards from China’s Wine List of The Year Awards, US based Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Awards, and Star Wine List of the Year from Sweden, the integrated resort (IR) operator said in a statement earlier this week.

The statement noted that the Imperial Court restaurant, a Black Pearl One-diamond award recipient, and Aux Beaux Arts at MGM MACAU, along with Chún and Grill 58 at MGM COTAI, won the highest honour of “Three-glass Excellent Glass Rating” under China’s Wine List of The Year Awards.

The statement said that the award recognises “professional wine investments in skill and resources that go into developing the best quality wine lists for China’s enthusiastic food and wine public”.

The statement added that Grill 58 was also named as the only winner of three of the highest gradings in the scheme, namely “China’s Wine List of the Year 2023 – Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan”, “China’s Best Luxury Fine Wine Cellar List” and “Best Wine List – Macau SAR”, while Aux Beaux Arts was listed in the “Hall of Fame” for its wine offerings.

MGM Director of Beverage Silven Wong and Assistant Director of Beverage Andy Tam were also awarded “China’s Outstanding F&B Director of the Year” and “China’s Outstanding Sommelier of the Year” respectively among Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Meanwhile, the statement noted that professional wine magazine Wine Spectator annually recognises restaurant outlets with “outstanding wine lists that offer interesting selections that are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers”.

Aux Beaux Arts this year marked its 12th consecutive Wine Spectator award and has again earned the “Three-Glass Grand Award” since 2016, while Imperial Court, Grill 58 and Chún have also again received the “Two-Glass Best of Award of Excellence”, according to the statement.

Moreover, bar and wine restaurant guide Star Wine List of the Year has awarded the “Red Star” grading, the highest in its scheme, to one-MICHELIN Star Sichuanese restaurant Five Foot Road, as well as Aux Beaux Arts, Aji and Grill 58, while Chún was also recognised as a “White Star” restaurant, the statement said.
