Integrated resort operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has organised Macau Grand Prix (MGP)-related activities for the local community in addition to supporting the race extravaganza and hosting related side events.

The statement noted that in support of the Youth Volunteer Association of Macao’s “One Day Volunteer” event for the 10th year, GEG invited around 20 seniors to visit the MGP museum to learn about the race extravaganza’s 70-year history, encourage them to remain active in the community, and participate in sport-related exchanges.

The statement said that GEG Volunteer Team members and a museum docent accompanied the seniors for a guided tour of the race exhibits and to experience interactive games, as well as to learn about the city’s motorsport culture. The GEG team also bought snacks from the Sam Meng Chi Snack Shop, a social enterprise of the Macau Association for Intellectual Development Services, for them after their tour, according to the statement.

Moreover, the integrated resort operator organised an exclusive session at the Pit Stop Challenge at Galaxy Macau in Cotai for around 40 people from the Macau Autism Association, Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office (SKH), the GEG Youth Achievement Program (YAP), and the Macao New Chinese Youth Association.

The session, the statement said, gave participants an opportunity to gain insights into a Formula One champion team and take part in racing-themed games such as using real pit crew tools to change tyres and experiencing the Guia Circuit through a racing simulator.

The statement added that over 70 members from the University of Macau’s (UM) Lui Che Woo College, SKH, the Macau Special Olympics, and YAP were invited to watch the races on the first day of the MGP.

The statement said that by hosting the activities, GEG aimed to promote excitement for the MGP and engage different sectors through sport.
