Wouldn’t it be fun to have a picnic in a cemetery?
But Njo Kong Kie’s idea of “Picnic in the Cemetery” is a concert of original music he composed in a special theatrical setting, audience seating and visual effects that doesn’t just bring music to the ears but is an experience for the senses.
Despite the title, Njo told MPD Weekender recently that the concert has nothing to do with a picnic in the cemetery. It was just a name he gave to an album featuring a trove of music he created just for fun while on tour with a dance troupe in Canada that he had never thought of officially releasing at the time.
