SJM Resorts said in a statement on Wednesday that it has recently hosted a guided tour of the “Miffy Creative Exhibition – Travel in Style” and the “Fluid Miffy Art Workshop” at Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) in Cotai, with the event aiming to empower individuals with autism to showcase their talents
The statement noted that 10 groups of children from the Macau Autism Association took part in the activity along with their parents.
SJM staff accompanied participants on a guided tour of the “Miffy Creative Exhibition - Travel in Style”, which features Miffy* models crafted by artists from across the globe, including Macau’s autistic artist Leong Ieng Wai (aka 0.38), immersing themselves in a plethora of artistic styles and “kindling their creative spirits”, the statement said.
Participants were then guided by instructors in designing their own Miffy models using vibrant pigments after the tour, the statement added, with the process bringing them the “joy of artistic expression” and providing a means to express their inner thoughts.
The statement noted that the workshop also enhanced the bond between parents and children, boosted the confidence of children with autism, and ignited their artistic potential. SJM also invited Macau Autism Association members to join the “Create Your Own Miffy Design Contest” to showcase their talents and “champion the cause of inclusivity”, according to the statement.
