The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said in a statement on Friday that its 17-day Christmas Market is slated to take place from December 16 to New Year’s Day in Praça do Tap Seac, featuring 23 booths and various entertainment facilities.
Themed “Christmas Dream Workshop”, the market will comprise 15 booths selling Christmas gifts and eight booths selling snacks, according to the statement. Some of the booths selling Christmas gifts will be operated by associations, cultural and creative enterprises contacted by the Cultural Development Fund, as well as ones run by individuals.
Moreover, augmented reality (AR) photo-taking, a nativity scene, a Christmas log cabin decoration, and performances such as a magic show and juggling clowns will be arranged, the statement said.
Popular facilities for children including the Christmas merry-go-round, Christmas spinning tea cups, and a Christmas labyrinth will also be operating from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, the statement said, all of which will be free of charge.
The statement added that arrangements for number tag distribution, booking and obtaining number tags online will be arranged for the carousel and spinning tea cups, while a small quota will be available on-site.
The statement said that the Christmas Market’s opening hours on December 24, 25 and 31 are from 2 p.m. to midnight, while it is open from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. on other days.
