Macau-based company CESL Asia* celebrated its 35th anniversary during a ceremony at the Mandarin Oriental on Monday, during which an agreement was signed with EREN Group, which currently holds the equivalent of around 15 billion patacas of “equity investment in 18 ventures focused on developing innovative technologies to save natural resources and limit CO2 emissions”, according to a CESL Asia statement on Monday.

Luxembourg-based EREN Group is a key player in renewable energy production, the Crunchbase website notes.

The joint venture, according to the statement, “will have exclusivity to promote ACCENTA, a proven A.I. [artificial intelligence] technology, enhancing CESL Asia’s FOCUS services and users’ comfort while saving energy, labour, and lifecycle costs of the facilities” that the local company manages.

Partnerships with DELC – Distributed Energy Low Carbon Company, which is a start-up that specialises in energy transition, and Currie & Brown, which the statement noted is “a global leader in project management and advisory services”, were also announced at the ceremony, the statement said.

A “strategic partnership” is also in progress between MPS and Guangdong Heavy Industry Architecture Engineering Group, which has over 2,500 engineers in the mainland, working together on a highly technical tunnel construction project in Macau.

CESL Asia President and CEO António Trindade was quoted by the statement as saying during his address: “With the advancement and sophistication of the local and GBA [Greater Bay Area] economies, where adherence to the National Sustainable Goals for 2030 and 2060 encourages the adoption of technology and disruptive business models, we have started to expand our technology capacities and our access to professional expertise and experience, establishing important new strategic partnerships for growth.”

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), was among the ceremony’s attendees, which also included other figures in the local political and business sectors, as well as CESL Asia’s longstanding business partners, according to the statement.
