The government has appointed Iam Lei Leng as the Housing Bureau’s (IH) director effective from yesterday.
Iam was hitherto a department chief at the bureau.
Iam succeeds Arnaldo Ernesto dos Santos who passed away of an undisclosed illness on November 16.
Ernesto dos Santos had headed the Housing Bureau since January 1, 2016.
Iam’s one-year appointment was made through an executive order by Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raimundo do Rosário, who oversees the bureau, published in the Official Gazette (BO) yesterday. Rosário signed the executive order on Wednesday last week.
According to the executive order, Iam started working in the Housing Bureau in April 1999, where he became chief of the Legal Affairs Division in January 2006, before being promoted to chief of the Research Department in March 2015.
Iam holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Legal Studies, from Shantou University in Guangdong and the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) respectively.
