The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a 59-year-old local man on Tuesday on suspicion of verbally abusing his wife for more than 10 years and attacking her twice late last month, PJ spokeswoman Yeung Sau Chan said in a special press conference yesterday.

The suspect, surnamed Lao, started to verbally abuse his wife in 2004, after the victim, surnamed Im, one day refused to have sex with him as she was feeling ill, according to Yeung.

Lao and Im have a daughter aged 14, and two sons aged 11 and seven, Yeung said.
